What Momentum does

• Direct-play streaming that leaves your files untouched. Full-quality FLAC arrives as FLAC. Your music is never needlessly transcoded. When the link cannot carry the file (Plex Relay's bandwidth cap, a weak cellular stretch), Momentum falls back to a converted stream instead of stopping, and returns to direct play when it can.
• Streams over home Wi-Fi or the car's own LTE, with automatic server discovery that reconnects as your car moves between networks. Any server your Plex account can reach, including ones friends have shared with you.
• Built for coverage gaps: retries, hold-and-recover, relay-to-direct upgrade mid-track, and server address changes handled without losing your place.
• Browse your library by playlists, artists, albums, or genres, with real art and alphabet grouping. Library changes on the server show up without restarting the app. Typed search when parked.
• Voice control: "Hey Google, play [song]", or an artist, album, playlist, or genre.
• Shuffle, repeat, a live Playing Next queue, and resume where you left off across ignition cycles.
• Play a FAT32 USB stick plugged into the car: folders as albums, covers from the stick, real titles from FLAC and ID3 tags.
• Driving-safety gating built for AAOS: browsing and search lock while moving; playback and voice stay available.

Momentum Pro

Everything above is free and stays free. Pro is a one-time Play Billing purchase made from your phone, no subscription, that adds:

• Offline content — download playlists and albums to head-unit storage and play with no server at all. A storage bar respects the vehicle's reserve; remove downloads whenever you need the space back.
• USB export — put the same downloads on a FAT32 stick, portable to any car running Momentum that can see the same server. Downloads are verified with per-track checksums and resume if the stick is pulled mid-copy.
• Crossfade — two independent decoders with real overlap, 2 to 12 second presets. Tracks from the same album still play gapless, so records flow the way they were sequenced. Direct-play tracks only.
• Two servers at once — pair a second Plex server, browse both from the car, and move playback between them without stopping the music.
• Sonic stations — build a station from whatever is playing, with the similarity range and length under your control. Needs Plex Pass and an analysed library; heuristic mixes otherwise.
